Highlights of Irudhaya Annai Church

Irudhaya Annai Church is under major renovation after 100 years. My family had the privilege and blessing to witness the installation of the main entrance doors of the Church on December 26th 2011. During this Christmas season my family celebrated a great reunion in my parents house, where we enjoyed joyful 2 days in the presence of our parents brothers and sisters and Irudhaya Annai. It was indeed a heavenly blessing that we could be there for this important milestone of the renovation and I thank Mother Mary for the blessings filled opportunity. The church is under renovation for almost last 1 year and suffered many set back and delays and it is not a coincidence that we could be there for the installation of the main doors and the beginning of the final stages of the renovation. I call it as a great blessing that my family was able to witness that heavenly day and we could participate in renovation as family in contribution to the altar construction, which I consider as our life time blessing. I request for prayers from all those who see this for the successful completion of the renovation of this church.

During my travel experience, I came across one theme again and again that many churches I visited are under renovation or construction. Priests in India are very active in renovating and building Churches. St. Thomas Mount Church, the hill where Apostle Thomas lived and died is under renovation and extensive construction after 500 years. Sacred Heart Church, Chennai, Egmore, a miraculous shrine is under major construction for last 2 years. Ascension Church my parish church has been completely and classically renovated and has extension building by Rev. Dr. Fr. Paul Bharathi. My parents place Church, Irudhaya Annai Church, is being renovated completely after 100 years for last 1 year, to be completed by May 2nd, 2012. Our Lady of Velannkanni, the miraculous Shrine of India, which is called as the Eastern Lourdu, where all religion people come to pray to Mother Mary, is building a new extension church. The details are available at Velankanni Website. In all the above mentioned churches renovations and buildings we as family would like to contribute and participate during this year and I pray for God's blessings for our family.

Here in Memphis, St . Louis Catholic Church has been renovated by Rev. Monsignor. McArthur. The altar looks heavenly, whoever could must see this renovated altar. There is something mystical and heavenly about the divine missions of the priests in building and renovating the churches. It is an extraordinary gift filled call.

We, together as a family thank God for the wonderful holiday season we had. Attached picture is the photo of the miraculous Mother Irudhaya Annai ( Immaculate Heart Of Mary)
