Come after me: Family as a disciple: Nativity

Every family needs the transformation experience which comes through the sacrament of Holy matrimony. In wedding function at Canaan, wine was an essential component of a wedding. When there was lack of wine the families were worried and they feared of shame. Similarly, I reflect, the wine, symbolizes the saving blood of Jesus, saving grace of God in the family. When there is a lack of  acknowledging God's presence within the families, there may be darkness within the family, which would mask the gifts and fruits of the families. Acknowledging and seeking God's help and His presence within the family is the first step of transformation. In the light of first miracle, there were two different things are seen. One side wine is need it is over another side there is plenty of water. If I may visualize water as the natural gifts of the family, which is abundant within each family, which may not substitute the required wine in quality, appearance, and taste. Therefore water is not

Come after me: Family as a disciple of Jesus; Nativity mystery

Families are called to live a discipleship life. Family is the first secular priesthood ordained by heavenly Father in Garden of Eden. Family role has inherited the natural role of discipleship to Holy Trinity from the beginning of its origin. Disciple life is to follow Jesus. Disciple is not alone. Disciple is always associated with his master or leader or guru. In the same way, disciple represents his believes and the ideologies and believes what he has learned. Disciple is some body who devoted represent his master and who is a student to a teacher. The ministry of the disciple reflects the master not the self. Individual uses his charisma and talents to spread the good news, but the outcome is spreading the message of God not self agenda. In discipleship life the disciple get the new identity. He transforms from the natural status to the purposeful divine status, while witnessing good news. Disciple may be viewed as an ambassador of a country. The ambassador represents the count

"Come after me": Family life is a discipleship life: Nativity Mystery

I continue to reflect upon the family's discipleship life in the context of Nativity mystery. I extend my thoughts into the first miracle of Jesus. Disciple is a person who follows Jesus. Here I view the family unit as a disciple of Jesus, because in Holy Matrimony, by the power of the Holy Spirit, the couple is united with Holy Matrimony and the couple transform into one body, mind, spirit, and soul. In Holy Matrimony, family becomes the disciple of Jesus, as in mystical status and in the secular status, two bodies become one, two souls unite as one, two hearts join as one, two minds join in determination to function as one, and two systems of families come in union as one family. Let us dwell in the first miracle little more time. Jesus performed many miracles when He walked this earth. But the first miracle was performed towards the joy of the family. I question myself, is it because the first family's sin corrupted the humanity and nature, now the Son of God begins His

Highlights of Pastoral Letter: Memphis, USA

http://www.cdom.org/CatholicDiocese.php?op=Bishop_Publications "The title I chose for this pastoral letter expresses what I hope to  impart to you: that our Catholic way of life is a great and wonderful gift  from God, and that when we truly live it, we might not be “outrageously  happy,” but we will live with and in deep joy. Before Jesus’ passion and  death, he prayed for his disciples. He asked God to allow that his joy  might be in them, and that their joy might be complete (John 17:13). He  wanted the joy that he himself experienced – the joy he knew from being  in constant communion with God – to be in us. Even though the joy we  experience in the next life surpasses all we can know or imagine now, we  are nonetheless invited and expected to find great joy NOW by living as  Jesus lived. Jesus’ joy was rooted in living in God – in God’s love, in  God’s peace, in God’s will. The same is true for us."  (Most. Rev. Bishop Terry Steib, Living our Catholicism, 2

"Come after me": Family life is a call of Discipleship life to Jesus: Nativity Mystery: Gifts and Fruits

Image
I continue to reflect upon the discipleship call of life of the families. Discipleship life is an active life of faith. Discipleship life of a family includes an active system of faith. All the families are called to become a disciple of Jesus in carrying good news to the world and to all creations. Within this discipleship way of life there are many kinds of calls consisted. Some families are called to live an ordained apostolic priesthood life example of this call is Deacons. Other families are called to live a natural discipleship life, which is a secular priesthood life. Secular priesthood life is a natural call of life of the family by its functions, roles, and significance to the world. However, discipleship life is a follower life, which needs a person to follow. It is a dependent life where the disciple is dependent upon the teacher or guru. Discipleship life involves following Jesus. In discipleship life Jesus takes the center of the life. The disciple is free and lead a

"Come after me": Family's discipleship call: Nativity Mystery of Holy Rosary

Image
I continue reflect upon the discipleship call of families through joyful mysteries. Currently I am dwelling on nativity mystery and I think, I am going to spend quiet many weeks in this mystery. Today my focus is on Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in the manger scene. I am fascinated and excited by the appearance of infant Jesus in between Mary and Joseph. As I have alluded before that in Nativity I reflect that the recreation of family relationship and fellowship with the Holy Trinity was revealed and in nativity the creation of the Church was revealed as the proclamation of kingdom of God began with Jesus ministry. I also discussed how in the first creation man and woman had the discipleship role of guarding and protecting all creations, which was entrusted to their care by the heavenly Father that which they lost in their original sin. Instead of ruling the creations as king, prophet, and people of God, they became a slave to the sin and its shackles. In nativity, Father used the human

"Come after me": Family as a disciple : Minister to all creation: Salvation was revealed to all creations in nativity of Son of God

Salvation was revealed to all creations in nativity mystery. Creator came down to meet the creatures of His love in Jesus Christ, who revealed His eternal presence in Holy Family. As I reflect upon the nativity mystery, I ponder upon the salvation of all creations. In the first family fall, not just humanity was corrupted by the lies of the enemy, but also all creations became corrupted as human family turned their dominance on all creation given by God to the enemy. In creation of human family, all creations were given to them with the mandate to subject and guard them. In human family's fall, not just they lost their divine glory and eternal life, but also they lost their dominance over the creations. The creations were neglected without the human oversee on their welfare. The creations became the conduit for the enemy through human sin. In nativity mystery, I see the liberation joy of all creations. By the conceptual structure of creation, all creation contains the image of w
