Value of existence for the glory of God

Some of us think that we have do great things to bring glory to God. Many of us think that we do not have time and energy to proclaim the gospel. Many of us think that we are not called to serve God or we may further think that we are not worthy of any thing in this world. Few of us think that we are too old or too young or too strong or too weak or too insignificant in this life. Like wise many thoughts of above nature could curtail our purposeful living in this world. On the other hand some of us may think that we have to do heroic activities to serve God everyday. He proclaimed that God can use anybody in their live status as they are for the world and for themselves. He further explained that no limitations of human perceptions could stop God in using us for His purpose. This is a great ...

Understanding Human Jesus: Rev. Fr. Paul Check, Transcribed by Deacon Dr. Bob, Memphis

UNDERSTANDING THE HUMAN SOUL OF JESUS CATHOLIC MANHOOD - A RETREAT BY FATHER PAUL CHECK At the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word, Casa Maria Retreat House, Irondale, AL March 23-25, 2012 (Talk #2) Every human heart seeks joy. And in our consideration of Christian Manhood this is the joy for which we are made; the joy that Jesus Christ promises. Our Lord told us as much. He said, “I have told you these things that my joy may be in you and that your joy might be complete.” And now that we have considered searching out the face of God, wanting to separate or purify ourselves from anything that is not of God, we take another step to discover that virtue which is essential. Indeed it is the most fundamental virtue, the most important of all of the Christian virtues, the one without which we cannot have joy. St. Paul tells us that we are to “put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh” (Phil. 3:3). That verse, as you may know, is the verse that convert...

Holy Family Pray for us!

Image
Most sweet Jesus, who came down upon earth to redeem and teach us the way of virtue and sanctity by your heavenly doctrine and admirable example, we now come to you to learn how to form our families in that most perfect mold of families, the Holy Family, which you, with your Immaculate Mother Mary and your foster-father, Saint Joseph, constituted in Nazareth. Permit us, then, to enter in spirit into the sanctuary of your holy home and learn to draw, with the assistance of your grace, light and strength to know and to practice in our homes, the lofty virtues which shone forth in the venerable trinity which you formed on earth. We come here in this novena to ask you this special grace (mention petition/s here). Jesus, Mary and Joseph, reign in the bosom of our families. Guard them as your very own from the snares of the enemy for the greater glory and service of God and the good of our souls. Amen
