In the valleys I look up
Mountaintop is so high
Heights of glory near
Swimming clouds around
Soul cooling breeze abundance
Far sight bright nature
Green valleys meadows capture
You raise me up beyond my nature
Gladness beyond containment
Happiness beyond achievements
Victory chants enticements
Glowing future near
But Lord, I perceive
Subtle ego creep in
Shadow pride peak in
Shunning sight begins
Dizzy self-enrolling
Distance I perceive
Thy presence

Destiny fall is certain
Desert of lonesome pertains
Detached from thy presence
Departed I travel
Then,
My Soul rise and realize
Saying I refuse to loose thy presence
Declaring I refuse to loose thy sight
Thinking of the valleys where
Thy presence was pristine
Reflecting the valleys where
Thy guidance was clear
Lord, I love the valleys
Where I travel with you more
Than the heights where
I may loose my sight on you
And may depart from you
In the valley I look up
Raise my hands towards the heaven
This subtle dependence upon thee
Sufficient in this life lord

Mountaintop is magic
Flights of birds nest
Fleets of clouds rest
Depth of snow resides
Vast sky celestial glory near
Illumine summit of heaven on earth
But Lord,
Illusions creep in
Selfish ideas begin
Steeps of peaks reign
Brittle my nature become
Subtle fragile being
Forgets thy loving presence
Then,
My Soul rise and realize
Saying I refuse to loose thy presence
Declaring I refuse to loose thy sight
Thinking of the valleys where
Thy presence was pristine
Reflecting the valleys where
Thy guidance was clear

Coveted empty promises
Set my path stumble
I struggle to keep my balance
