இரண்டாவது நகரப் படலம்      வளன் பிறந்த சூதேய நாட்டின் தலைமைப் பதியாகிய எருசலேம் நகரத்தின் சிறப்பைக் கூறும் பகுதி.                    எருசலேம் பெருமை      -விளம், -மா, தேமா, - விளம், -மா, தேமா                           1 மெய்வ்வழி மறைநூ னீங்கி வியனுல கினிதென் றின்னா வவ்வழி வுற்ற தென்ன வதிந்தெமை யளித்துக் காக்கச் செவ்வழி யுளத்த தூயோன் றெரிந்தமா நகரி தென்றா லிவ்வழி பின்ன ருண்டோ வெருசலே நகரை வாழ்த்த. மெய் வழி மறை நூல் நீங்கி, வியன் உலகு இனிது என்று,                                        இன்னா வவ்வு அழிவு உற்றது என்ன, வதந்து எமை அளித்துக்                                        காக்கச் செவ் வழி உளத்த தூயோன் தெரிந்த மா நகர் இது என்றால் இவ் வழி பின்னர் உண்டோ எருசலேம் நகரை வாழ்த்த?      பரந்த இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையே இனிதென்று மதித்து, வேத நூல் நாட்டிய உண்மையான வழியை விட்டு விலகியதனால், பாவமாகிய துன்பத்தினால் கவரப்பட்டு இவ்வுலகம் அழிவுக்கு ஆளாகிய தென்று கண்டு, செம்மையான வழியிலேயே செல்லும் உள்ளத்தைக் கொண்ட தூயவனாகிய ஆண்டவன் தானே இவ்வுலகிற்கு வந்து தங்கியிருந்து நம்மையெல்லாம் மீட்டுக் காக்கவென்று தெரிந்து கொண்ட பெரிய நகரம் இது என்றால், எருசலேம் நகரை வாழ்த்த இந்த முறைமைக்குப் பின்னரும் சிறந்த வேறொன்று உண்டோ? Notes: Humanity chose to be attracted towards the hedonistic way of worldly life above everything and abandoned the truths of the heavenly teaching. As a result, the world was entangled with the seduction of sins and the universe was subjected to the state of destruction due to human actions. Looking at this destructive sinful state of humanity, Holy heart-ed God Himself came down and stayed in the world to redeem humanity and the world. For this holy purpose, If God chose the big city of Jerusalem in the country of Judea, what a greater glory Jerusalem can have above the glory of which God Himself bestowed on it? In the above four lined poem, Fr, Beschi writes about the glory of Jerusalem, a city in Judea. He acclaims that Jerusalem has higher honor and glory than any other cities in the world, as God Himself chose to live in it as a human to redeem human and the world. In poet's heart Jerusalem is a chosen city for the purpose of salvation. In this poem, the poet begins his evangelization work, by laying out the eternal truths that God created human and universe, human did not obey God's teachings, which gave way to sin and destruction. God came down to the world as a human and lived among them to save them from the destructive clutches of sins. God redeemed the world from the sins by His own begotten Son Jesus Christ. Thus the salvation of human and world began and accomplished. These simple  truths are the foundation concepts of salvation. Fr. Beschi, clearly states the salvation history in this poem, which depicts background for the purposes of people associated with salvation history. Among the people who cooperated with God Himself in this great mission of salvation, next to Virgin Mary. St. Joseph's human cooperation is highly significant. Therefore it is highly purposeful, when poet highlights the importance of the birth place of St. Joseph as a great honored city in Judea. In this poem, I also witness the ardent desire of the poet in spreading Gospel through his poems and writings. He places the simple truths of salvation in the beginning of his poems in this book, which is highly significant to evangelize Tamil reading scholars, who were predominantly Hindus, during his time. This poem quickly captures the reader's attention and directs towards the salvation history in a clear manner that conveys the purpose of the poet's writings. The poet is very efficient in communicating the salvation history in his newly adopted culture and language, for which, this poem stands as an evidence for the  thrust of his missionary works and Tamil scholarship.
