Divine Mercy Novena 6th Day

Sixth Day
"Today bring to Me The Meek and Humble Souls and the Souls of Little Children and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. Only the humble soul is capable of receiving My grace I favor humble souls with My confidence."

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said, "Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart." Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy, and they are the heavenly Father's favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, O Jesus, and they unceasingly sing out a hymn of love and mercy.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek souls, upon humble souls and upon little children, who are enfolded in the abode of the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight you take in them: Bless the whole world, that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Thoughts:

Let us pray for our children and all the children in the world. During this divine mercy novena, let us immerse the children in the mercy of God. One hot summer month, when Jesus was resting near a shady tree after whole day travel, many mothers brought their children to Jesus to get them blessed. Disciples did not like to see Jesus is being disturbed, so they were trying to sent them away by hush hush. Jesus asked them not to hinder children from coming to Him, and He blessed them with great love. The act of bringing children near Jesus lies with parents, because parents are the first faith teachers. Parents also have the responsibility to nurture and protect children. While they struggle hard and do their best to nurture children in fulfilling their needs of the world, the parents also have responsibility to provide for spiritual needs of the children. In our catholic church, we bring the child to the church very early and baptize them as early as possible, which is a great way to bring the child near God. Next we parents try our level best to portray catholic christian values to the children, which is our responsibility as well.

In this world, one can select, choose, or buy anything, but one cannot determine his parents before birth, so being a parent is a God given gift and responsibility. There is something in us that God has installed and found them good and enabled us be parents. Bringing children near God's presence, and role modeling in faith are the responsibility of parents and elders in a community.

Another side of the coin is that protecting children from the evil and dangers. We immunize the children against the communicable diseases when they are babies, which will protect them from contracting life endangering diseases. In the same way, children have to be protected against devils tactics. The immunizations against the evil tactics are sacraments. Sacraments bring the children closer to God and protects them. Another important spiritual immunization is parents prayers for children. Parents prayers for the children are very powerful, just because the parents have the heart desire to give best to their children all the time. So their prayer has compassion, passion, desire, sacrifice, and love for the children. Parents prayers are genuine and powerful. In the new testament, Jesus never refused the prayers of fathers, mothers, and foster parents. He performed many miracles at the request of parents. So let us pray for our children and all the children in the world. Particularly the children who have no one to pray for them. let us also remember children those who live in institutions, orphanages, and foster homes.

There is an urgent issue related to children require our attention in prayer, which is prayer against abortions. Children belongs to God, neither father nor the mother owns the child's life.No one has the authority to decide about the child's eligibility to live or die. All lives belong only to God. So let us pray to protect children from abortions.let us also pray for the children who are abused by parents and others, that the Lord will heal them and protect them. Worldwide children are forced to work in child labor, let us pray that children will have opportunity to have their childhood to learn, play , and grow.

Another evil that affects the children all over the world, that could keep away children from God's love, above all scandal the children, is divorce in the families. Divorce is an evil not just affect the single family but also affect the children and the community. Many don't realize how much stress and pain they inflict upon their children, when they try to go on their separate ways, in the name of individual rights or human rights or what ever may be the color they paint as the reason. If parents realize how much insecurity they cause in children hearts and that impact their life for ever, they might reconsider their decisions of divorce. As Catholics, we have to pray very diligently against these divisions in the families. Divorce is a curse that could affect the family line generation to generations, because children tend to repeat what they witness in their parents. So let us pray fervently to prevent this evil, so that we could protect children lives and bring them to the love of God. Let us remember our Lords words let no man separate what God has united. Having said that, I also would like to emphasize that marriage is not a rose bed, even if it is a rose bed, roses have thorns too. Couples are designed to complement to each other in nature in God's will, so no one can find themselves or their preferences in the spouse, if they find, it may be that someone sacrificing the voice in the family or compromising the role. There are differences among couples for the purpose, which serve to protect the family structure and function, like thorns in the roses. Where ever one feel that thorn, let that person surrender the situation to the Sacred heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Let Jesus mercy strengthen and upheaval the weaknesses. Let us consider giving God a chance before heading to the differences, because marriage is not just between man and a woman, but also inclusive of Holy Spirit. You are not alone when you are suffering, God is in that relationship too. let his strength strengthen our families in our weaknesses. Let us also pray for all the families and parents for God's blessings upon them. While I write this, I think of my parents and thank God for them. It is because of them I was able to have education and I had my simple and lovely childhood, especially I salute my mother's diligent love and sacrifices, who became my inspiration of my life time. I have crossed three fourth of my life span ( (As per Indian women life expectancy), but I am yet to match or to reach her wisdom, hard work, and vision orientation, given her simple opportunities and simple environment. Parents make a permanent impression on their children for life, whether we like to acknowledge or not, let it be a good one.

Prayer:
Soul of Christ Sanctify me,
Body of Christ Save me,
Blood of Christ Inebriate me,
water from the side of Christ, Wash me,
passion of Christ, strengthen me,
O good Jesus, Hear me,
within your wounds, hide me,
never let me be, separated from you,
from the wicked enemy, defend me,
in hour of my death, call me,
and bid me, come to you,
so that with your saints,
I may praise you ever and ever,
Amen!
