Divine Mercy in Miracles

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”
7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”

8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

Yesterday we heard at the pulpit from East to West, Mother Church proclaimed the message of Apostle Thomas doubt and Resurrected Jesus appearance to clarify his doubts followed by Apostle Thomas faith confession, stating " My Lord and My God"
Jesus addressed Thomas doubt and came forward to show His wounds asking Thomas to touch them and be clarified. The key and highlight of Apostle Thomas conversion is that When Thomas confessed his faith statement, Jesus said, " Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." In explaining this concept, Rev. Dr. Fr. Paul Bharathy said, that Jesus saw us then and all the generations came after the apostles and He appreciated our faith. He added, we belong to the faithful people who have not seen and yet believe, which is a boost to our faithful existence. His message stimulated my thoughts to think further. Yes we are most fortunate people because we have the resurrected Lord's body, which is the Mother Church, in Her through her and with her He is present always among us. Apostle were in communion with Lord in human ways of suffering and in the Resurrected power, whereas we are communion with Lord in the resurrected power through the Baptistism. Indeed we are most fortunate and blessed generation. Are we aware of this status? Do we know what it means to our day today life?

Human existence have been on earth many many centuries. Scientist calculate the human habitation on the earth as millions of years ago. However, in the recorded history and in the nature archives there were not many discoveries and science and technologies beyond religion, society, astrology, astronomy, buildings, voyages, wars, power, primitive medical remedies, and money. Human achievements were very limited inspite of multitudes of genius in many occasions people who had insights even beyond our modern understandings with all the technologies we have now, have lived on this earth. However, it is not a rocket science to understand the remarkable changes on earth has happened in the human discoveries, science, technologies, medicine, exploration of sea, sky and beyond after Jesus has walked the earth. Interesting question need to be asked by all the sociologists, scientists, explorers, religious people, and political observers. Why? and Why? Is it not the through the salvation of Human soul by the death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ? Is it from the freedom of human soul from the clutches of principalities through our Lord's resurrection?

Jesus identify such faith, the faith of believing without seeing in His time itself in Capernaum in a centurion. His merciful heart was moved at the confession of centurion faith.

"8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

The above confession declares the faith of the centurion. He not only proclaim his faith in Jesus he also explains the power of the Divinity of Jesus, when he was only able to see the human Jesus, which was beyond the natural realm. Centurion was able to see Jesus beyond the natural appearance and understand Jesus power and his unworthiness to house Jesus in his house. In centurion prayer, we see faith which is beyon the seen world, we see humility which is a key virtue, which moves Jesus heart, we see the understanding of the divine order. This understanding is very important in prayer. Understanding of who we are, we are the children of Heavenly Father through Resurrected Lord Jesus. Knowing this in our consciousness is very important to withstand and battle the trials and temptation of the darkness. It is in this understanding, the devil lies to us and change our thinking.Knowing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and their relation to us is so important as breathing to our existence.

Jesus was highly moved by the centurion faith as a result divine mercy was flowing from His heart then the miracle was inevitable as it is recorded in the bible.

"10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Miracles are everyday event. Let us not miss the boat in the experience of resurrected LOrd's life. Let us pray.

Thank you Heavenly Father!
