"Come after me": Parenting call is a disciple call: Joyful Mystery & Natural parenting

One of the functions of the family is parenting. Parenting is a sacred gift and call. Parenting involves a discipleship call of life. When Apostolic priesthood, which is the redemptive priesthood involves feeding the sheep, feeding the lamb, and tending the flock; Family's natural priesthood call is parenting, which is a discipleship way of life, which is called to co create, co nurture, and co tend the children with the help of Holy Spirit. Let me place the parenting roles and function near Holy Family, which included Jesus Mary and Joseph. Allow me to reflect the concepts of parenting in the light and context of Joyful Mystery of Holy Rosary, which include Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, Presentation, and Finding Jesus in the Temple. While all other mysteries addresses the redemptive apostolic priesthood roles of Jesus that which is continued by His Apostles till today, the Joyful mysteries present the fullness and gift of the Holy Family and which is continued in the pa...

"Come after me": Family life is a discipleship life

From the historical land of America, from the great city of Memphis, in the year of 2013, I journey in reflecting and writing my petty thoughts on discipleship life. I began this journey many months ago reflecting the majesty of Jesus at the sea shore of Galilee, when He called His first disciples. I was fascinated in wonder looking at the spontaneous discipleship of Peter and his brother, when they left their boats behind to follow Jesus. From this awesome scene and thought, I began this journey of " Come after me." My plan was to reflect on each disciple and their perspectives on Jesus. However, while on reflections, I took an unusual route of reflecting discipleship in a retrospective pattern from Galilee to Jesus Childhood, which I had not planned or even thought about until, I journeyed through that route. As a result, I discovered some elements and essentials of discipleship life among all those who were around infant and child Jesus life. Particularly, I admire the Ho...

"Come after me"Family and discipleship grace

Family contains the Holy Trinity's image in it's structure. It contains the divine grace within its heart and bosom. Each family is blessed with limitless graces for the purpose of its life, love, and unity and for the purpose of taking the good news to the world. Family  has one soul and it has the imprinted image of God in it, as the man and woman are united with Holy Trinity in Holy matrimony. Family's soul receives infinite love, grace, and peace from the Holy Trinity.  Family contains and explores the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit by its living. Family is a sanctuary of God. Family is equipped with the powerful love that surpasses all understanding, in forgiving each other. Family love has natural dimension and supernatural dimension. The family bond has greater strength than all the temptations in the world. Family contains the healing grace within itself. The healing grace within the devoted family can withstand the trials in this world, in Jesus name. For t...

"Come after me": Discipleship and family: Motherhood and Discipleship life

"Mary Most Simple – a woman in love with her God and her family! During the month of May, we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary. We see her as holy. After all, she is the Queen of Heaven and Earth. She is the Mother of God. Like Mary, we are called God’s beloved daughters and sons, the temples of the Holy Spirit, and the bearers of Christ to the world. But we look at Mary and can sometimes be overwhelmed by how far above us she is. Yet, Mary saw herself simply as “ the handmaid of the Lord.”  Her greatness is really in her simplicity as a simple, down-to-earth person. As a young lady, Mary followed the simple custom of engagement so the announcement of the Archangel Gabriel troubled and surprised her. But in trust, she consented to the normal role of being with child, married Joseph and gave birth. She nursed and weaned her child. With Joseph, she taught her child to talk, walk and read, like other parents. Mary cooked, hauled water, and cleaned house. She decorated for c...

"Come after me": Holy Family at Egypt: Egypt as a disciple Nation: Can a nation be a disciple?

"The Flight to Egypt. 13 *  When they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, *  and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.” 14 Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. 15 *  He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet d  might be fulfilled, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”" (Mathew Chapter 2)   Holy Family traveled to Egypt to take refuge in the fright of Herod's fury. Jesus Mary and Joseph found their home at Egypt until the death of Herod. When I think of Egypt, I view a nation which has given refuge to many of the Biblical Heros. It was in Egypt, Joseph took refuge as a slave and he was lifted to the status of Governor. It was at Egypt the Israel found their home in Joseph's prosperity and power then became slaves of the labors. It wa...

"Come after me": Innocent first martyrs for Jesus Christ: Infant Jesus disciples

The innocent children who were the ransom to the rage of the Herod were infant Jesus disciples and they became the first martyrs for Jesus Christ. They were innocent, they shared the geography and the culture of Jesus at that time. They were born proximal to the time  of Jesus birth. They laid their lives in the purpose of shielding the good news. They were numerous, numberless, and multitudes, who found the holy cause for their short lived life and attained martyrdom for Jesus. Multitudes of martyrs follow their foot steps till today for the cause of good news. Martyrs are from all walks of life including Priests, Nuns, religious, lay people, families, and even communities. They face martyrdom in witnessing Jesus Christ in their call of life throughout the ages. Martyrdom can be two kinds such as laying ones life for the Good news( dying for good news), another can be living the life of self denial as holy sacrifice( choosing to live the life for spreading good news)( Living fo...

Daily Mass is a holy charity of Mother Church to the world

Daily mass is a holy charity of mother Church to the world. Prayer is a charity and I believe that it is the best form of the charity. In holy mass, faithful lift their praises, thanksgiving, and intercessions for themselves, families, community, and for the world. The very few, who attend the mass, make the representation and serve as the seeds of charity in union with Jesus Christ and holy Mother Church throughout the world. In the holy mass, Jesus Christ the chief priest, faithful, and the holy Mother Church, combined make the triune bonding and it appears to me as a perfect symbol of the Holy Trinity,  the symbol of living prayers, and the symbol of praying charity. Holy daily mass is a holy charity.

Daily Mass is a divine mystery that sets an affinity to the body, mind, and soul

Daily mass sets an affinity for a seeking soul. It draws the body and mind towards it, which is an un-explainable phenomenon. It has a radiant power that permeates the body and mind, irrespective of the status of human participation into the details of the holy Mass. Once the individual has reached the church the divine grace and mercy takes over and it brings peace. It is a mystery. Seeking soul finds the forgiving presence of the Lord, hearing mind meets the word of God, and yielding body finds communion with the Lord. Daily mass is a divine mystery.

Daily Mass is a divine gift and Majesty of Catholic Church to the world

Daily Holy Mass is a divine gift and majesty of Holy Mother Catholic Church. Mother Church celebrates daily holy mass in the remembrance of Jesus death and resurrection. In the union with Her bridegroom Jesus Christ, in the fellowship of the faithful, she ministers to the world. Daily Mass brings inner healing, peace to the inner core of the individual, and it does help to lift the daily burdens, and it brings focus to the day today life and it does reduces anxiety over the materials. Daily mass is ministered through the service of Catholic priesthood's. Catholic priesthood, not just conduct the Holy mass as a ceremony, but also, it brings it's life sacrifice as they leave behind the world and follow Jesus in ministering to the world. Thus Catholic priesthood becomes the chalice to hold the divine sacrifice at the altar. Holy mass therefore has dual sacrifices including the atonement came through Our Lord Jesus Christ passion and the human atonement by the participatory sacr...

Ave Maria! Wedding in Cana

Image
John Chapter 2 "On the third day there was a wedding *  in Cana *  in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. a 2 Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” 4 *  [And] Jesus said to her, “Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come.” b 5 His mother said to the servers, “Do whatever he tells you.” c 6 *  Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, d each holding twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus told them, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.” *  So they took it. 9 And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, “Everyone serves good wine first, and then when pe...

Novena Prayer to Our Lady Of Vailankanni Oh Most Holy Virgin! You were chosen by the Most Adorable Trinity from all eternity to be the most pure Mother of Jesus. Permit me, your humble and devoted servant, to remind you of the joy received in the instant of the Most Sacred Incarnation of our Divine Lord and during the nine months you carried Him in your chaste womb. I wish most sincerely that I could renew, or even increase that joy, by the fervour of my Prayers. Oh! Tender Mother of the afflicted! Grant me under my present necessities that special protection You have promised to those who devoutly commemorate this ineffable joy. Relying on the infinite mercies of your Divine Son, trusting in the promise which He has made that those who ask should receive, and penetrated with confidence in your powerful prayers, I most humbly entreat you intercede for me. I beg you to obtain for me the favours which I petition for in this novena, if it be the Holy Will of God to grant them; to...
