"Come after me": Visitation: Family's discipleship life:

Visitation: Mary visits Elizabeth. In this visitation, Elizabeth was filled with heavenly joy in seeing Mary. In addition, she identified Mary as the Mother of God. I think she was the first one to call Mary as Mother of God. Further, Elizabeth, exclaims stating that her womb leaped in joy in hearing the Mother of God's voice. Mary from her side finds the confirmation sign given by the Angel during annunciation. She gets affirmation of her call to be a parent of Messiah. Mary the mother of God was filled with heavenly joy and she sang the magnificat, which is a powerful praise.



In visitation, family finds fellowship with Church and other families in the Church and world. By this fellowship family gets its affirmation and fellowship. I think, each family fulfill the role of visitation in fellowship with the Church and the neighbors. No family is an island but it lives in fellowship in the world. By this visitation role of each family, each family becomes the source of prayers and charities to the world. By the role of visitation, every family minister to the community in their existence and essence, which is a call. Visitation reveals the secular call of discipleship of  the family. A sacred call of love. A sacred call of charity. A sacred call of unity. A sacred call of  sharing. A sacred call of parenting. It is by this visitation virtues, children learn socialization and witnessing for faith. It is by this visitation call, parents affirm and realize the will of God in their lives.

Mary's visitation to Elizabeth:
  •  highlights the significance of family's role in spreading the good news
  • symbolical depiction of how the church nurtures, promotes, protects and ministers to the family
  • denotes the apostolic mission of church in this world
Elizabeth reception and ecstasy filled praise for mother God:
  • signifies the role of family in the church and the world
  • denotes the hospitality and charity roles of family
  • highlights the majesty and dignity of the family in the discipleship call of life
