God's mercy: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

In the mount sermon Jesus teaches us that those who give will receive more, which can be applied to gift of mercy as well. Here he equates the measure of mercy given to the measure of mercy shown by an individual to others. Further he indicates that whoever show mercy to others will receive mercy from God. It is a promise from God Himself. So the merciful will receive mercy from God. The first step in understanding God's mercy in one's life is to find all those who need one's mercy in life situation and show them the mercy required. Every act of mercy shown is credited in heaven as the return of God's mercy to oneself.

Although mercy cannot be contained in one formula or one idea or definitive definitions, it is a glimpse of understanding of God's mercy taught by Our Lord Jesus Christ to the human understanding. Human works with motivations. Therefore, being merciful is to receive mercy is a win win situation for anybody, as we all need God's mercy all the time. In addition, Jesus teaching fit to the human psychology of motivational theories and practice as well. Mercy appears practical, logical and reasonable at human level as all the economical principles are based on investment and yield. Showing mercy to others is an investment to yield mercy in one's life.

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." Mathew 5/7
