Joseph lead the way - when
Mary and child in womb resting
Vigilant Joseph guide the journey
As he cared in love of the family
He contemplated his journey
In fostering infant Jesus
He dreamed to see the baby face
The face of the messiah
His burdens became none
when he thought of the messiah his son
His ordeals became a holy sacrifice
When he realized he is no an ordinary father
The father of son of God and son of man
He was humbled by this thought
And he cherished the care of Mary and baby in womb
He walked all along the way
Many elders walk with them
In conversation of the Bethlehem politics
Discussion of over crowded city
Came to his ears
Discussion on census routines
Aggression of the king
Concerns of his time
Shared with the fellow travelers
Reached his understanding
Joseph planed all he could
To find a place for Mary and child
He prayed often to God in his heart
to guide them to a safe place
He held Mary in his tender heart
While Mary carried the messiah
Joseph on his journey
Journey to Bethlehem
His life mission journey

Joseph love revealed in caring
With tender love for his family
He watched Mary grow
As the child grow in her womb
He stood by Mary in her challenges
As Mary was blessed as mother of God
He paid respect in reverence
Humbled by the reality
He is no ordinary man
The man chosen to guard the Holy Family
The responsibility and sacrifice
He laid in the holy altar of the family
He inquired constantly of Mary's comfort
He stopped frequently
To ease the burden on Mary
As fellow passengers pass by
He placed her needs above his sleep and rest
He kept walking and watching and waking
while he was on journey
Many hills they crossed
many valleys they tread
Many hideouts of thieves they passed
Many fears, doubts, and struggle he faced
In protecting Mary and child in womb
On journey
Joseph on his journey

Joseph on a journey
In providing protecting the family
He took delight in serving Mary and child
His life time mission
He is on a journey
Journey to Bethlehem
Foster father his status
The love beyond any father's in the world
Joseph cared for his family
Model of redemptive family
Joseph on the journey
as angels watching His ways
Journey to Bethlehem
His life time journey

He waits in anticipation
As he walk towards Bethlehem
He waits in eager to see the baby Jesus
He has plans for baby
he has plans to make cradle and toys
He has plans for extending the house
As he walks, Mary and Joseph
Discuss on plans for the child
He discussed the Name of the Baby
As angel has announced
He discussed on Mary's care and babies care in Bethlehem
He was feeling fulfilled
In fulfilling Mary's needs and child needs
Joseph transformed to fatherhood
all along his journey
as angels watched over the journey
Standing guard of Holy family
The redemptive family of universe and beyond
