Christmas Journey: Shepherds



We are the shepherds
The shepherds of Bethlehem
We are the Shepherds
Who saw the Angels from Heaven
We are the shepherds
Who saw the Baby Jesus at the Manger.

We were captivated by heavenly glory
We knelt on our knees to adore
We bend our heads to touch the ground
At the sight of God's glory

Now we saw an Angel appear near us
in radiance and glory
In brightness beyond our sights
In beauty beyond our descriptions
In glory beyond any measure
In joy beyond any happiness
In peace beyond the earth
In love beyond any human
We saw an Angel standing near us.

We bowed in adoration
We buried our face into our hands
We knelt on ground
With eager and joy
For the Angel to bless us

The Angel spoke in a loving tone
In a heavenly majesty
In a celestial eloquence
In a kingly proclamation
In earthly words
To our human hearts

Do not be afraid! Do not be afraid!
I bring you good news of great joy;
which will be for all the people!
Do not be afraid!
Good news of joy!
Good news of God's peace!
Good news of tides!
Good news of heavenly love!
Good news of deliverance!
Good news of the love of God
for His creations! for all His creations!

We the shepherds heard the proclamation!
We were happy at the good news
We wondered at heart what it might be
We were at the height of excitement
We were thinking,
who we are that God's Angels must come and talk to us!
Who we are that God's messenger was sent to us!
Who we are that the Good news must be proclaimed to!
What we do receiving such a great gift!
We wondered and wondered
with the simple understanding!
We listened  with great attention
Knowing nothing of the mystery!
