Fr. Rother stanley: Priesthood Heros from United states of America who lived the good news

Fr. Rother Stanley: A shepherd hearted priest

United states of America has great priests who care for their parish and their people so devotedly. One thing I always admire about American catholic people is that they are authentic in their faith they are serious about what they believe. The main foundational reason for this observance is that America has great shepherds and priests. In a nation, where they have all the freedom they can have, all the luxury they can have, the life is so different in this nation compared to the eastern countries. One thing about sacrificing something when you do not have anything or barely have something, and another thing is that you sacrifice everything when you have possibility to reach them all. The later is very difficult.( priesthood call and the life is same for all the priests all over the world. But the context in which they serve is different). In the context, the American priests renounce the world in their call and live a heavenly call among the most materialistic society and they have a higher responsibility to witness to the most rationalizing body of people against all the ordeals of fast post modern relative world. To which civilization I will compare America, when it has the resemblance of all great nations in it such as great Greek, resemblance of great roman, resemblance of great Israel, resemblance of all the great kingdoms in the world resides within America.

Another important observation and admiration I have for Catholic families in America is that they have high morale in family values, which may not be a common view of people about America from outside. Particularly, catholic families uphold high standards of family values. The main reason for this can be attributable to good priests who counsel the catholic families. They are from a strong tradition of Catholicism. They need our prayers and support. let us pray for them.

Here I place a great example of an American priest who laid down his life to protect his faithfuls. Fr. Rother Stanley was one of the great priests of America, who served people in Guatemala and was killed for that people.
When the time was so bad that a violent crowd wanted to kidnap and kill Fr. Stanley, he had option to go to united states but he refused and stayed with his people. He had a shepherd heart and a heart for his people. The follwing quote explains it all. "Fr. Rother Stanley was urged to flee and return to the United States but Stanley refused saying, "At the first signs of danger, the shepherd can't run and leave the sheep to fend for themselves."

Background:
Guatemala's history is rife with violence and kidnappings. Santiago Atitlán had, for many years, been a haven from this violence and the country's political distress had not stepped across the threshold of parish for some time. However, this peace would not hold once some politically minded people had determined to escalate the violence to accomplish their destructive goals. After all, the way of violence leads only to more violence and not into the way of life and peace. Stanley diagnosed the problem as such: "The country here is in rebellion and the government is taking it out on the church...The Church seems to be the only force that is trying to do something about the situation, and therefore the government is after us."
Fr. Stanley shepherd heart:
Fr. Rother Stanley was urged to flee and return to the United States but Stanley refused saying, "At the first signs of danger, the shepherd can't run and leave the sheep to fend for themselves."

"He left Oklahoma near Holy Week and returned to Santiago Atitlán to celebrate the Gospel story: Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again. In the early morning hours of July 28th, 1981, armed men broke into rectory and seized Stanley. Apparently, they were intending to kidnap him and torture him. Stanley did not beg for his life or cry out in fear or pain but, rather, told his would-be-abductors: "Kill me here." Stanley Rother died when one of the armed men shot him in the head twice. He died where he requested and where he had returned: among the people of Guatemala."
