Mother Teresa: Model of Service upon divine love

Mother was an extraordinary humanitarian, who showed us how to love the suffering human through the love of God. She was gentle in spirit, courageous at heart, determinant in faith, and persistent in deeds of charity. The root cause of her humanitarian works was for and by the love of God. It was her conviction that we serve God by serving suffering human.

I see a similarity in Mother's statement about serving the leper for the love of God with St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis of Assisi embraced a leper to experience the love of God. His deliberate and radical action of embracing the leper with the conviction of the love of God, revealed, Jesus visit to him in the disguise of poor leper. St. Francis lived a life of Gospel through his actions, which were deliberate, courageous, and based on the love of God.


Like St. Francis of Assisi, Mother was embracing the poor, suffering people, dying, and orphans with the deliberate conviction of actions based on the love of God. Human and all creations were elevated to the higher dignity in the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. When God love the human to the highest esteem, often, the people who are consumed by the love of God and dedicated themselves to the love of God, love and follow the heart of the Lord, which is the love for the humanity and all creations. They walk in the path of Jesus following His heart. Their walk with the Lord is visible and tangible to the world in their dedication, services, and the love with which they serve.

I understand, serving for the love of God has two sides or two stages to the story. It is a divine call given to all human, especially to those who are baptized. We are called to love and serve God. While many are called, few respond with the first step/ stage of loving God, by offering themselves in His care. When they respond with their love with all the human frailty with sincerity, with humility, and surrender in faith, their love is ignited with the love of God, which transforms exponentially like a nuclear energy, which cannot be contained within human understanding or ability, but to love as God is love and lead the soul into a stage of  life which is united with Jesus Christ Himself. These souls live a life of divine love with Jesus. Thus, they begin to see His love for His creation in reality of their walk of life. They view everything they see , associate and interact in the image and likeness of their creator, they love. Thus, they serve people with greater purpose, greater conviction, and greater simplicity, that surpasses all the understanding, human abilities, and ordeals.
Mother's love for God and love for His people was extraordinary.
