Come after me: Foot steps of Jesus
Universal Catholic Church celebrates the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, we have 24 hours adoration on every first Friday of the month. Following Saturday, we have closing benediction and Holy Mass. I look forward for the Saturday morning mass. The specialty of attending the Saturday morning mass after the First Saturday in OLPH chapel brings many spiritual blessings, as we get to recite all four mysteries of Rosary in the presence of Blessed Sacrament. First Friday visitation to the blessed sacrament is managed by the Hobson family. They also lead the Rosary as a family. I admire this family very much in our parish. Rain or shine they are present to see to the 24 hour adoration and the Saturday morning Rosary and divine mercy. Mr. & Mrs. Hobson are very kind to all the people who visit our Church. They make each one of us who attend the Church to recite a decade. I know them for last 11 years. They are highly devoted Catholic family.
OLPH chapel is very dear to our family, as we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in this chapel. Chapel has a traditional center located golden tabernacle which is surrounded by six candles three on each side. Chapel is adorned with a beautiful altar. On the right side of the altar, there is a beautiful Mary the mother of God Statue. This statue looks so divine as it is depicted the action of presentation of our Lord by Our Lady. She holds the infant Jesus as if she presents him to us. I call this statue as presentation statue. On the left side of the altar, there is St. Joseph statue. It is traditional statue of St. Joseph with lively eyes. When you stand in front of this statue, you can feel the liveliness of St. Joseph's cheerful penetrating look. He holds white lilies on his right hand and a carpentry tool on his left hand side.
On Saturdays following the first Friday, we have Our Lady of Fatima Statue displayed by Hobson's family. This statue is a traveling statue among OLPH parishioners. If you read the witness log what people write about Our Lady of Fatima visitation to the houses through this statue, you can understand the blessings come through Mother Mary intercessions.
When Jesus walked this earth 2000 years ago, multitudes followed Him where ever he went. Hundreds of Disciples including men and women followed him. many families supported the mission of Jesus. I would call Mr & Mrs. Hobson family as one of those disciple families of our time. The dedication they bring on the events of First Friday observation and first Saturday motivates us in faith. They are best hospitality ministers of our parish. Throughout the world multitudes of Families help in the services of the Church in many ways through their discipleship life. While Catholic Priesthood is a Apostolic Call of life, the Catholic Family life is a discipleship call. Holy Family model of life is a Catholic way of life in the foot steps of Jesus.
