"Come after me": Magi as Child Jesus disciples: Their call of study

Study of of anything is a gift of Holy Spirit. I believe that all studies, all knowledge, all knowing, all discoveries, all inventions and all the sciences comes from God and find their origin, inquiry and destiny in God Hmself, and they are departments of Holy Spirit. I consider all the offices related to all education and sciences and all the professions related to the education, science, discoveries, inventions, and research are the offices of Holy Spirit.  Magi were scholars, inquirers, scientists, researchers, astronomers, predictors, inventors, travelers, kings, and above all their inquiry was focused on eternal heavenly king and they followed natural and heavenly sciences as they were guided by the wonder star, which was a natural sign and they followed the Angels instructions, which was a heavenly sign.

I mentioned above all knowing and knowledge comes from God and all the professions related to knowing, knowledge, and sciences are Holy Spirit Office. To understand these concepts let me travel to Genesis chapters 1-3 in the Holy bible. Research is a gift and responsibility given by God to the human. By definition, research includes various stages of inquiry and activities. The first stage is describing. In this stage, an object, event, situation, phenomenon, process, characteristic,etc..... are being summarized and described. This can be done by observation and describing. Next stage of the research is explaining. Explaining takes comparison, association, finding the differences, etc.......In this stage human explains the observations with supporting evidences from description, comparison, categorization, and associations. This stage involves human intellectual application to the nature through interpretation. Next stage of research is prediction. This stage involves identifications of  multiple predictors or precursors, or antecedents to an outcome or groups of outcomes. This stage of inquiry involves multiple associations, correlations, and predictions. In this stage, nature, human intellectualism, and the mathematical truths interact to bring forth the prediction of an outcome.  In this stage, the scientific knowledge becomes the applicable knowledge in all possible human interventions in the nature. This is the stage provides the knowledge of making a difference in the nature by human interaction and interventions and manipulation of  human into the nature. Through this prediction stage of science we are able to predict the weather, predict the diseases, predict the economy, predict the agriculture, predict the seasons and cycles of nature, predict the social behaviors, predict the space distance etc....
It is through this prediction, human is able to explore the space, underwater, Etc........ Prediction has no limit. It opens the doors of knowledge to the tangible understanding of human. It is the most important stage of the research and knowing. Next stage is the empirical testing stage. In this stage human intervene into the nature through an intervention identified through manipulation. In this stage, the researcher test an idea, question, inquiry, and hypothesis through manipulations. This stage is the verification stage. Thus any research include all the above mentioned stages of knowing, which include describing, explaining, predicting and testing. The product of any knowing is knowledge. Knowledge comes from God and it is a gift of Holy Spirit.

As I write these concepts on Fathers' day, I would like to highlight heavenly Father's gifts of knowledge and the vested responsibility of knowing to the human through His love in creation. Let me reflect this idea with the help of creation activity of God, using Genesis chapters. If we analyze creation account, all creations came through the spoken word of God. This is why I believe, every creation including human has the image of word of God, the son of God. This is why, The Son of God, the word of God, whoes image is contained in all creation, had to become human to bring salvation to human and all creation, as He is the constant in all creation. As all creation contained the word of God's image, it is through Him the salvation was possible into the fallen status of the world. This is why,  I believe, Son of God, word of the Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ said, I am the way, light, and life. In Him, through Him, with Him the salvation of Holy Spirit's image was reestablished in Human and among the world through the Church.

While, every creation was made by the word of God, in human creation, Heavenly Father, not only spoke His word but also used His deliberate actions of creative hand work in creating Human from the soil, further, He imprinted His image in Human, in addition, He gave His life, which is holy Spirit to Human. Thus human, in pre- sinful state contained within him the image of Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit in Him. The Holy Trinity's image was imprinted in human by creation of God. Father God created all creation and He tested them and found them Good. Heavenly Father Himself was a researcher. Our God is God of science as well. In fact, When He created Eve, the bible account records that He created Eve from the bones and flesh of Adam when He was sleeping, which I consider as first anesthesia, first surgery and first cloning (In regard with cloning and human tissue interventions, I support Catholic Church views) . After creating everything, He created the Adam the first father and human, He  gave him the authority over all creations and made him to name all creations. I believe, this naming ceremony is the first research done in the Garden of Eden by human under the vested power and responsibility from the Father to the human, under the guidance of Holy Spirit and Son of God image within the human. Naming involves research, discovery, and inventions. It also involves activities of describing, explaining, predicting, and testing. The first human, the first father, the Adam was a researcher, inquirer by his creation which the humanity continue as an inherited trait. Science is a gift and knowing and research are Holy Spirit's office.

Magi were seeking the heavenly king through their inquiry. Their research question was salvation. Their search focused on an eternal heavenly king. They set out to travel with their discovery of astronomical wonder star. They observed the star, they described the star, they explained the star with their interpretation, they predicted the Messiah's arrival from the star, they  set out a travel following the star, which is the testing experimentation. Magi were not only the researchers but also I believe that they can be placed in the places of Jesus disciples, as their search of inquiry was Jesus. Their destination was Jesus. They followed the star to find Jesus. Their life was a discerning life. Multitudes of researchers, scientists, educationists, inventors, discoverers join Magi call of life as disciples of Jesus even today and all times to come to the end of the earth. It is an interesting truth, the vast majority of the ground breaking discoveries and inventions came through faith filled researchers.
