Looking up to Jesus's sufferings: Garden of Gethsemane
Human sufferings have millions of origins. Majority of them are caused by bad choices and decisions of human, society, and world inflicting suffering to oneself, family, community, and to the world respectively. While nothing escapes God's will, few of them have roots in the heavenly intervention will as well. Individual sufferings have rippling effect on the family, community, society, and to the world. Irrespective of origins of sufferings, in the time of sufferings, God's presence and Holy Angels services surrounds the human, sheltering humanity with mercy and grace.
In this world of Garden of Gethsemane, God's presence and human fellowship are present in the form of Mother Church. Mother Church has two charisma as Her bridegroom Jesus. As Jesus was God and man, Mother Church contains divinity and humanity. The prayers and sacrifices of Mother Church with her children, goes beyond the salvation of Catholic Church. She is the Apostle for the entire world and creations to all times to come. Presence of Mother Church is the will of God to serve as a consolation to the suffering world. Services of Mother Church is Apostolic in nature. Mother is a mother, whether children and world acknowledge her or not. Mother's love and sacrifices can not be bought by anything in this world. There is nothing equal to the love of a mother to the child. Nothing, and I say again absolutely nothing, can replace her protection, nurture, sacrifices, and services to the children.
Mother Church is a praying sacramental body of resurrected Lord. She is not a human invention or administration or human institution, but she is a living will of Heavenly Father. She is an eternal suffering body of Christ. She looks up to Jesus as she was present with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane in the presence of Jesus and Apostles. Apostles took part in Jesus's suffering in Gethsemane, later they took part in the resurrection and descent of the Holy Spirit, as they were the first Church. It is imperative to looking up to Jesus promise and know the protection of Mother Church. It is consoling to know that God is on our side when we suffer. It is Jesus's promise that the enemy will not be able to overcome the church( Mt 16:18-19).
We, Mother Church's children, who are called as Catholics, who are called to live a sacramental apostolic life, the life which is used by God not just for us, but also for the benefits of entire world and creations, as we are called servants of God, let us look up to Our God Jesus Christ in prayer seeking His will in our times. Let us celebrate the sacredness and the greater purposes of our mother Church to the world, as she live as an eternal witness to the salvation of humanity and all creations.
Let us pray with her in our garden of Gethsemane seeking will of God as she looks up to Jesus for discernment and life.
