Jesus Words on the Cross: " It is finished"

When Jesus had received the wine, he said,"It is finished;"
and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.
Gospel of John 19:30

The Crucifixion

When Jesus had received the wine, he said,"It is finished;"
and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.

It is finished, a verse of completion. The son of God, who is the alpha and omega of all creation, who became a creation, in the love human, now have come to the finish of his mission. It blows my mind beyond comprehension  when I think of the humility of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who acknowledged His completion of mission. Everything in creation has an end and a finish line. The word of God has totally subjected himself to the creation law, acknowledged His human end. His humility became the  role model for the entire universe and to the humanity.

He said, It is finished indicating, the time has come to depart from the world. He announced the finish, indicating the atonement for all the sins of human and the creations have been completed through total surrender and obedience to the Father's will, in fully human nature. He indicated it is finished that the reign of the darkness is finished by His death and resurrection to come.

He proclaimed the finish with the victory over the evil and darkness though his suffering and death. The Son of God who do not know the finite end, subjected himself to a finish, which is the atonement in the place of humanity.

In the previous two words, we witnessed Jesus's fullness of human status. However, here, He reigns as a king, it looks like He takes His authority over the world, in both Human and Divine aspects of His incarnation. He let the world know that He has come to the finish of his atonement, which is not human but the divine authority, as He is the Son of God, who laid His life down willingly as an atonement for the human sins.

He spoke in divine authority and the human will, He declared that it is finished. The spiritual warfare fare is done.  Salvation is completed by his death and the resurrection to come.
